A perfect opportunity to tie the game appeared when Mississippi State’s Tyson Carter caught a pass in the corner. But the three-point shot that Carter launched never reached the basket. It was swatted out of bounds by Alabama’s Kira Lewis, who raced over to prevent another collapse with an outstretched hand.

The Crimson Tide's players knew they were going to be challenged today after Harvard defeated Auburn 6-1 on Friday. During the doubles matches, Alabama took advantage by breaking serve late on court No. 2 and court No. 3, which allowed it to win the doubles point for the sixth straight time this season.
