The Alabama women’s tennis team dropped just one set Sunday en route to a 7-0 win over Eastern Kentucky at the Alabama Tennis Stadium. The Crimson Tide remains undefeated on its home courts at 5-0 in 2010.
Alabama had an easy time in doubles, only falling in a pair of games total in all three matches. The Tide duo of senior Alice Tunaru and junior Meritt Emery secured the first point for Alabama with an 8-1 victory over the Colonels sophomore Alyze Pagal and freshman Catarina Branco. Emery would also deliver the dual match-winning point at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Pagal.
Next up, the Tide opens Southeastern Conference play when it travels to Georgia on Friday. The match is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
