Alex Gholston was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America track and field team. The senior was one of the 15 athletes named to the team.
“Alex is living proof that at The University of Alabama, you can truly have it all,” Head Coach Dan Waters said. “To be a multiple time All-American and Academic All-American is a tremendous feat. We are very proud of Alex and everything she accomplished as part of our program.”
Gholston graduated with a 3.9 GPA with a major in English.
She is the only member of the women’s track team to be named to the list twice, and the ninth member of the women’s team overall.
Away from the classroom, Gholston finished her career as a six-time All-American. She was part of the school record-setting 4x400m relay during the indoor season. She also finished as an All-American in the indoor season and earned All-Southeastern Conference honors at the SEC indoor championships.
Her senior indoor season proved to be her best season. She finished as a NCAA qualifier in the indoor 400 meters and the 4×400 relay team.
