Redshirt senior middle blocker Krystal Rivers earned SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the fourth time this season, and the sixth time of her career, after a weekend that saw her post 56 kills on a .425 hitting percentage in two matches. Both totals led the Alabama Crimson Tide. She also had six aces to lead the team.
Rivers recorded 31 kills Sunday against Ole Miss, marking the fifth match this season Rivers posted at least 30 kills in a match. Rivers also added 11 digs against Ole Miss for her sixth double-double of the year.
Rivers is currently second in Alabama history with 1,960 career kills. She trails Erin Heffner’s top spot by just 130 kills.
Alabama faces Tennessee at home Friday night at 6 p.m. before hosting the Kentucky Wildcats on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
