Riley Norris picked up right where he left off against South Carolina, when he made a 3 to score the first points of the game.
Unfortunately for Alabama, he cooled off after that recording only three more points in Alabama’s 71-63 loss to Vanderbilt (10-7, 2-3). Shannon Hale came off the bench to lead the Crimson Tide with 13 points. Arthur Edwards and Retin Obasohan also scored double-digit points to finish with 12 and 10 points respectively.
Alabama (10-6,1-3) actually managed outrebound the Commodores 39-29 and shot better from the field 48-percent to 41-percent. Jimmie Taylor led the team with nine rebounds, Obasohan grabbed seven and Donta Hall finished with six.
Vanderbilt led the Crimson Tide by two points at halftime before beginning the second half on a 10-1 run that kept the Commodores ahead by at least five for the remainder of the game.
The game was decided at the foul-line where Vanderbilt made 22-36 free throws while Alabama made only 7-20.
