The Crimson Tide and the Razorbacks were back-and-forth Sunday night during their volleyball game in Arkansas.
Alabama started with the lead during set one, but soon lost it to Arkansas. The teams were tied up at 19-19, but Arkansas inched ahead and led 21-19 as Alabama called a timeout. The teams got back out on the court, only to be off five points later when Alabama called another timeout as it trailed 24-21. Arkansas won set one 25-22 after a service error from Alabama.
Set two was a similar story, but the roles were reversed. Arkansas started with the lead, but Alabama came back. After the two teams were tied up six times and had three different lead changes, Alabama pulled through with a 25-23 win.
Arkansas took set three, 25-18, giving it a 2-1 set advantage. If the Razorbacks won set four, the match would be over. But, set four went to Alabama, 25-20, forcing a fifth set.
Set five was the most back-and-forth of all with six tied scores and four lead changes. Brittany Thomas finished it off for the Crimson Tide after back-to-back kills. Alabama won set five, 15-13, and the overall match, 3-2.
Kat Hutson and Krystal Rivers led Alabama with 22 kills each. At setter, Sierra Wilson finished with 52 assists. While at libero, Natalie Murison had 15 digs, but Rivers led Alabama with 21 total digs.
Alabama (11-13, 5-5 SEC) will host Tennessee on Friday and South Carolina on Sunday.
