The No. 16 Alabama men’s golf team had a historic Monday of golf. The Crimson Tide lead the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate by eight strokes after the first two rounds. Just behind Alabama is No. 3 Auburn and No. 1 Florida State.
Junior Robby Shelton and Senior Tom Lovelady finished the day on top of the leaderboard. Shelton is standing at 10-under par with a 66 and a 64. Both his second round score and 36-hole total matched his career-low mark and tied for the second-lowest scores in program history. Lovelady finished the day with a 5-under par 135 (70-65).
Alabama is looking for its fourth consecutive Jerry Pate Intercollegiate title in 2015. The teams Tuesday performance is tied for the second-lowest team score in program history
