The Alabama coaching staff named 11 players of the week after the Crimson Tide beat Louisiana Monroe 34-0 on Saturday.
Running back Kenyan Drake and wide receiver Calvin Ridley represented the offense. Drake was recognized for the second straight week after he led the team in rushing with 65 yards coming on only 10 carries. Ridley scored his first career touchdown, and caught a total of four catches for a career best 38 yards.
Special teams also had two players recognized. Adam Griffith was also recognized for the second straight week after he made both field goal attempts from 35 and 40 yards out. Cornerback Cyrus Jones was honored after he returned five punts for a total of 43 yards.
The defense was well represented this week with seven players being recognized. Jarran Reed was selected for the fourth time this season after he recorded one sack and five total tackles with one quarterback hurry. Dalvin Tomlinson and Da’Shawn Hand also recorded five total tackles. Minkah Fitzpatrick led the team with seven tackles, one of those for loss. Reggie Ragland recorded four tackles for the team while Tim Williams and Denzel Devall recorded a half sack and a sack respectively.
