- Alabama took the lead with a touchdown pass from Jalen Hurts to Irv Smith with 6:08 left in the first quarter. It took Alabama 46:52 to score a touchdown against LSU last year.
- Minkah Fitzpatrick went down twice in the opening quarter. He played the next series both times, but was limited after the second injury.
- Ronnie Harrison intercepted Danny Etling’s pass on the second to last play of the first quarter. It was Alabama’s 12th interception of the year.
- Mack Wilson was carted to the locker room late in the second quarter. He didn’t return.
