An emergency situation at DCH Medical Center closed sections of University Boulevard and Paul Bryant Drive Wednesday afternoon.
The University of Alabama sent an email to students just after 4 p.m. alerting them to the situation.
The email described the situation as “involving an individual in a car.”
“There is no threat to the campus community, but please avoid the area,” the email read.

UPDATE: (4:55, 8/30/17):
The Tuscaloosa Police Department sent an email statement to the press alerting them of the incident.
At 4:50 p.m. they said the incident was ongoing and not inside the hospital.
“We are asking the public to stay out of the area if possible,” the email read. “When the incident has come to a conclusion, further will be released.”
