The man who started as Alabama’s quarterback opening day was not seen at practice.
Redshirt freshman Blake Barnett could not be found as the quarterbacks ran through drills Wednesday during media availability. Barnett is a former five-star recruit who lost the starting job to true freshman Jalen Hurts. Barnett’s season totals are 11-19 for 219 passing yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.
Homecoming is just three days away for the Crimson Tide. Injured stars Damien Harris and ArDarius Stewart were seen in white full-contact jerseys during Wednesday’s media period. Stewart ran all the routes with the receivers with a brace on his left knee. Harris worked through drills with the running backs and had his left leg taped up. Coach Nick Saban told the media Monday they were both listed as day-to-day.
Additional Practice Notes:
- Tony Brown was seen wearing No. 2 on the field working with defensive backs.
- Outside linebackers worked with interior defensive linemen on play calls.
- Defensive backs and the offensive line worked against scout teams as well during the period.
