Every year around Halloween, children from the Tuscaloosa area are invited to the annual Trick-or-Treat event on Sorority Row. Costumes are encouraged, but masks will not be allowed.
“I’m excited to see the turnout this year,” said UA sorority member Maggie Moore, a sophomore majoring in marketing. “It’s really cool that we can provide a safe, family-friendly environment for these kids before Halloween is even here.”
The event was canceled last year due to inclement weather. If canceled again this year, it will not be rescheduled.
“My favorite part of the event is seeing all of the families that come out and thank us for hosting it,” said Pamela Sox, UA Panhellenic President. “Knowing not only that we had a good turn-out but also that everyone had a good time is a really great feeling and makes me really thankful for how awesome our Panhellenic community is.”
Sox said she thinks it is special because Panhellenic has held this event for many years, and the families always expect to have a great time.
“We’ve gotten a lot of phone calls this month asking for details and telling us how excited they are, which is awesome because that means the community wants to keep participating in our events,” Sox said.
