With Dalvin Tomlinson sidelined for a few days with a twisted ankle after Saturday’s scrimmage, someone needed to step up on the defensive line. During Monday’s viewing session, that person appeared to be Da’Shawn Hand.
When the defensive linemen worked on drills designed to help them rush the passer, Hand lined up in the third slot behind Jonathan Allen and Da’Ron Payne. He also lined up alongside those two when the line worked with blocking sleds.
Additional Practice Reports:
- Despite being dinged up in Saturday’s scrimmage, running back Bo Scarbrough led his position through drills, followed by Damien Harris, on Monday morning.
- The quarterbacks worked in pairs early in the viewing period. As usual, quarterbacks Cooper Bateman and Blake Barnett worked together. Bateman started the drill throwing to wide receiver ArDarius Stewart, and Barnett worked with the second receiver in line, Cam Sims.
- When the quarterbacks worked with tight ends, OJ Howard led one line while Hale Hentages led the other.
- Near the end of the drill the quarterbacks lined up together with Bateman leading Barnett, David Cornwell and Jalen Hurts, respectively. Stewart then Sims led the corresponding line of receivers.
This is how the secondary looked during drills on Monday morning:
- Safeties: Eddie Jackson and Ronnie Harrison
- Corners: Marlon Humphrey and Jared Mayden
- Money/Star: Minkah Fitzpatrick and Shyheim Carter
