The Bulldog Invitational was the last non-championship meet of the season for the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. The Crimson Tide performed well by winning several events and setting some records.
On the women’s side of the meet, junior Caroline Korst broke the school record by 0.08 seconds in the 100-meter backstroke, while setting a new personal record. Sophomore Temarie Tomley and freshman Katie Coughlin also set personal records in the 100-meter backstroke.
Sophomore Hannah Musser finished third in the 100-meter backstroke. Tomley also won the 100-meter freestyle, and she set a personal record in the 50-meter freestyle.
Junior Taylor Zablocki finished second in the 3-meter diving board. Fellow diver sophomore Kara Fredlock finished third off the platform dive.
For the men, junior Pavel Romanov won the 100-meter backstroke. Romanov set a personal best in the preliminary heat in the same event, which he broke again in the finals.
A pair of Crimson Tide swimmers finished in the top three for the 50-meter freestyle. Junior Alex Gray finished second and freshman Knox Auerbach finished third. Auerbach also had a personal best in the race.
Junior Carl Madden finished second in the 500-meter freestyle, while reaching a new personal best. Junior Robert Ramoska finished second in the 100-meter backstroke. Ramoska also finished with a personal best.
The Crimson Tide once again had two finishers in the top three in the 100-meter freestyle. Gray won the event and senior Crews Wellford finished third.
Junior Jacob Kelsoe finished second in the 200-meter backstroke. Kelsoe also set a personal record in the preliminary heat in the event.
The Crimson Tide finished first in both the 3 meter springboard and the platform. Junior Brent Sagert won the 3-meter springboard and junior Dylan Marin won the platform.
