The Alabama football team practiced indoors Tuesday afternoon. It is not preparing to face anyone specific this Halloween weekend since the Crimson Tide has its bye week before it hosts LSU the following week.
Coach Nick Saban worked with and threw passes to the secondary. The defensive backs, such as Tony Brown, Cyrus Jones, Maurice Smith, and Eddie Jackson, worked on their one-on-one coverage. Alabama totals 12 interceptions for 375 yards this season.
PRACTICE NOTES:
The running backs, including Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake, worked on agility drills that required high feet and making cuts all while carrying two footballs for ball control.
O.J. Howard and other tight ends were working on blocking at the beginning of the viewing period but then switch over to receiving short passes.
The defensive linemen also worked on blocking and then switched over to practicing be able to get their hands up in order to either bat or intercept a pass.
The quarterbacks, such as Jake Coker and Cooper Bateman, worked with wide receivers throwing passes that ranged from short to long, but none of which were straight down the field. Wide receivers included Chris Black, Richard Mullaney, ArDarius Stewart and others. There were passes dropped here and there – one was so off target that it hit a reporters foot – but the catch rate seemed consistent with past practices.
