Alabama women’s golf kicked off the season on the right foot Friday with a first place standing going into Saturday at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tenn. the the team posted a 282, 6-under par.
Two underclassmen produced for Alabama. Sophomore Lakareber Abe finished Friday in second overall place. Her 67 was just one stroke behind Lauren Coughlin of Virginia. Freshman Cheyenne Knight recorded a 69 in her first ever collegiate round.
Alabama leads by two strokes over Northwestern and five or more strokes over the rest of the 15 team field.
