The Crimson Tide will travel to Wilmington, North Carolina, for the Landfall Tradition tournament this weekend. The team is the returning 2013 Landfall Tradition champion and will be facing the nation’s top teams for a chance to repeat.
“It is a new year and a new team, but it does give us confidence just because we know we can play this course well,” sophomore Cammie Gray said.
Alabama will be joining a field of 18 teams, 10 of which are ranked.
Alabama last played at the Tar Heel Invitational against some of the same ranked opponents. The team finished 11th but has shown improvement since its first tournament of the season.
“The good news over the last two tournaments as opposed to our first one we have had: out of six rounds, I think four of them have been under par,” coach Mic Potter said. “So we are showing we have the ability to get there. We are just not showing that we have the finishing touches yet. So our goal is now to start getting at or under par and finishing with a sub-par round. ”
