Tabitha Cooley, a UA student, was recognized as the BAMA Country female Artist at the 5th annual Alabama Music Awards. Cooley is grateful to have accepted the award and remains hopeful for what is next in her journey with music.

Gorgas renovations spark creativity

Students showcase their creativity by adding a pop of color to the temporary walls throughout the Gayle Gorgas Library during the renovations. From displaying a wall made up of hand prints from the faculty and staff to paintings created by fellow students, these creations are brightening up the area while renovations are taking place.

Video policy aims to protect Rec Center patrons

The Student Recreation Center enforces a no video and no photography policy to allow patrons to feel welcome and safe during their workout. It wants to protect its facility and patrons from becoming the next viral meme, but this policy does have an effect on patrons who would like to use video or photos to track progress, demonstrate workouts or for motivational reasons.

Encore helps film majors gain experience through music

Magnolia Bayou traveled from Mississippi to perform at the Encore event hosted by University of Alabama students. Encore gives production students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience by producing live shows. The band performed a concert for students and gave more information about their upcoming tour.

Judge John England leaves legacy on campus

John H. England Jr. was one of the first African-Americans to be admitted into The University of Alabama School of Law in 1969. Due to his contributions to the University and the community, the New Freshman Hall that opened its doors in the fall is being named after him.
