Gymnastics hits the road to renew rivalry rich with tradition

For over 30 years, former coach Sarah Patterson’s Crimson Tide and Suzanne Yoculan’s Gym Dogs were frequently ranked among the top teams in the country. They combined for 16 national championships and 24 SEC titles from 1986 to 2014.

Since the loss to Texas A&M, Johnson has been pleased with the way his team has refocused both in practice and film study.

Jumping off one foot and floating forward through the air, Texas A&M’s TJ Starks released the three-point shot that silenced Coleman Coliseum and shocked Alabama. The shot, falling through the net as time expired, sealed an 81-80 comeback victory for the Aggies and delivered Alabama its fifth loss of the season.
