Colorado State will hire Alabama defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley as its next defensive coordinator, according to a report by Football Scoop. Ansley spent the last two seasons coaching Alabama’s secondary.
This will be the second defensive staffer Alabama has lost this post season, with defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt taking the head coaching position at Tennessee.
Ansley replaced Mel Tucker, who left to take the defensive coordinator position at Georgia after the 2015-2016 season. Ansley will join head coach Mike Bobo’s staff.
Alabama gained a staff member over the postseason. The Crimson Tide hired UTSA defensive coordinator Pete Goulding.
