First year coach Greg Goff now knows who he will play in his first season as the Alabama baseball coach. On Tuesday, Alabama announced its schedule. The Crimson Tide will open against Presbyterian College Feb. 17-19 at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
Not only will the Crimson Tide play its opening series at home, but the team will also be staying in town for the first 20 games of the season. In fact, Alabama will host 37 of its 56 regular season games.
“I’m really excited about our schedule, especially having the opportunity to play 37 home games this season,” Goff said. “Our team is looking forward to getting to play in front of our great fans and inside our beautiful stadium every opportunity we get. I hope to see “The Joe” packed out every night to provide us with some extra energy and help us build a home field advantage unlike any other.”
Some highlights of the home schedule include five home series against fellow SEC teams Missouri, Arkansas, Texas A&M, LSU and Florida. The season’s away SEC opponents include South Carolina, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn and Vanderbilt.
