Beat Auburn Beat Hunger kicks off for the 22nd year this Saturday, Oct. 1.
WHO: Beat Auburn, Beat Beat Hunger.
WHAT: The goal is to collect more pounds of food than Auburn each year. Out of the 22 years the program has run, the University has beat Auburn only 10 times.
To celebrate this year’s kick off, an official kick off event with food and games will be held to begin the campaign against the Tigers.
WHERE: The Ferguson Center Plaza
WHEN: Monday, Oct. 3 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
BABH began in 1994 with the Community Service Center and the West Alabama Food Bank joining forces to fight poverty and hunger in Alabama.
The Food Bank of East Alabama teams with Auburn University every year with the same goal in mind, thus leading to the creation of Beat Auburn Beat Hunger.
The organization will hold events to incentivize donating for the entirety of this year’s Beat Auburn Beat Hunger, ending with the final weigh in on Wednesday, Nov. 16.
To learn more about how and where to donate, visit beatauburnbeathunger.ua.edu and attend the kickoff event this Monday.
