Last Sunday, a student at Auburn University was found dead in his dorm with an unknown cause of death. Auburn University Police found the student deceased in his room after responding to a call from the boy’s parents, who had not been able to get in contact with their son.
County Coroner Bill Harris pronounced the student dead upon his arrival at the scene at 3:26 p.m. The student’s body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for an autopsy, where the results on his cause of death are still being determined. According to AL.com, doctors have ruled out foul play and preexisting medical conditions as the cause of the student’s passing.
The name of the student was not released per a request made by the family. According to a memorial e-fundraiser, the student “was beginning his studies at Auburn University in engineering and pledged Phi Kappa Tau.”
He was born in Argentina and graduated high school in Colorado. He is survived by his parents and two brothers. As of noon Wednesday, 78 percent of the $9,000 goal has been donated through the fundraiser.
A memorial service in memory will be held this Saturday, Sept. 3 in Denver, Colo.
