The University of Alabama Crimson Tide practiced in Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday before the first scrimmage of fall camp.
The defensive backs worked on catching footballs during a drill. One line was led by Eddie Jackson, Tony Brown and Kendall Sheffield. The other was led by Marlon Humphrey, Hootie Jones and Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Additional Practice Notes:
- The offensive line worked on burst and agility in groups of four. The first group contained Cam Robinson, Lester Cotton, Ross Pierschbacher and Jonah Williams. The second group was Bradley Bozeman, Dallas Warmack, J.C. Hassenauer and Korren Kirven.
- The tight ends practiced their blocking. O.J. Howard and Truett Harris led one line, and Hale Hentges and Brandon Greene led the other.
- The quarterbacks threw some passes to the tight ends. One line had quarterbacks David Cornwell and Jalen Hurts throwing to a group led by Howard and Miller Forristall. The other had Cooper Bateman and Blake Barnett throwing to a line led by Greene and Cam Stewart.
- The wide receivers also caught passes from the quarterbacks. Cornwell and Hurts threw to a line led by ArDarius Stewart, Cam Sims and Xavian Marks. The other line working with Bateman and Barnett was led by Calvin Ridley, Derek Kief, Austin Johnson and Gehrig Dieter.
- Wide receiver Donnie Lee Jr. was getting his wrist taped during the viewing period.
- The inside linebackers worked on a strength drill in pairs. The pairs included Rashaan Evans and Reuben Foster, Ben Davis and Lyndell “Mack” Wilson, and Shaun Dion Hamilton and Joshua McMillon.
