With overcast skies, the University of Alabama Crimson Tide held football practice indoors on Friday. This marks the final practice before the Crimson Tide holds the first scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday.
While the quarterbacks practiced dropĀ backs, David Cornwell did not participate. Cooper Bateman, Blake Barnett, Jalen Hurts, and Montana Murphy all worked on their dropĀ backs while Cornwell threw passes to a staffer.

- The quarterbacks threw deep balls to the wide receivers during the viewing period.Ā The quarterbacks had one line composed of Bateman and Barnett with Cornwell and Hurts in the other line. The wide receivers were led by Calvin Ridley and Derek Kief in Batemanās line, with ArDarius Stewart and Cam Sims leading the other -Raheem Falkins had a nice catch on a pass from Hurts.
- The tight ends were also in two lines. Bateman and Barnett threw to a line led by Hale Hentges and Brandon Greene. Cornwell and Hurts threw to a line led by O.J. Howard and Irv Smith Jr. Greene had a bad drop on a pass from Bateman.
- The defensive linemen worked in pairs on a drill involving tackling dummies. The first pair was Jonathan Allen and Dalvin Tomlinson, and the second was DaāRon Payne and DaāShawn Hand.
- The defensive backs participated in a drill testing coverage and contact. One line was led by Eddie Jackson and Hootie Jones, and the other was led by Minkah Fitzpatrick and Marlon Humphrey.
- The running backs worked on a footwork drill. They were led by Bo Scarbrough and Damien Harris. Joshua Jacobs was the third back, and BJ Emmons the fourth back. The two have both spent time at the third spot since fall camp began.
- The offensive linemen worked on an agility and burst drill in groups of three. Cam Robinson, J.C. Hassenauer and Korren Kirven made up the first group, and the second group contained Bradley Bozeman, Josh Casher, and Jonah Williams.
