The University of Alabama football team returned outdoors after practicing indoors yesterday as fall camp continues. Today is the second of three two-a-day practices the Crimson Tide has during fall camp.
For the second straight day, multiple NFL scouts were on hand to observe practice. Representatives from the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers and Washington Redskins were identified during the viewing period.
The Million Dollar Band could also be heard practicing on their practice field.
Additional Practice Notes:
- Outside linebackers went through footwork drills, led by Anfernee Jennings, Ryan Anderson and Tim Williams.
- The defensive linemen worked on a drill that practiced their burst off the line. They worked in trios, and were led by Jonathan Allen, Da’Ron Payne and Dalvin Tomlinson.
- The wide receivers caught short passes from coaches. They were led by Calvin Ridley, ArDarius Stewart and Cam Sims.
- Offensive linemen worked on a drill similar to that of the defensive linemen. They were led by Jonah Williams, Ross Pierschbacher and Bradley Bozeman.
- The quarterbacks threw to the tight ends in two lines. One was led by Cooper Bateman and David Cornwell, and the other was led by Blake Barnett and Jalen Hurts. O.J. Howard and Irv Smith Jr. led the first line of tight ends, and Hale Hentges and Cam Stewart led the second line.
- Another passing drill to the tight ends saw offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin lead a line opposite Howard. Kiffin was unable to catch a pass from Hurts.
- The defensive backs practiced coverage with drills. One lineup saw Anthony Averett and Marlon Humphrey line up as the cornerbacks, with Minkah Fitzpatrick in the star position.
