WHAT: Preparing for Final Exams Workshop
WHEN: Tuesday April 12, 4-5 p.m.
WHERE: 230 Osband Hall, across the street from Foster Auditorium
WHY: Dr. Richard Livingston, assistant director of the Center for Academic Success (CAS), will lead the workshop in order to help students perform better on their final exams. Livingston noted that the CAS does the workshop once every semester. He said that the workshop in the fall semester is helpful to freshman students who are new to collegiate final exams.
“In the fall semester I think it really is helpful because especially freshman who have not taken college final exams before really don’t have any background in how to prepare or even what it’s like… Especially in the fall semester it’s very effective for beginning students,” Livingston said.
He later said the workshop in the spring semester acts more as a “refresher.”
“In the spring semester it’s probably just sort of a refresher, just to remind students that they shouldn’t procrastinate and [to] take [the] final exam period seriously,” he said.
