WHAT: The International Communications Club
WHEN: Wednesday March 30, at 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: Reese-Phifer Hall, room 104A.
WHY: The International Communications Club was created in January, and met for the first time in February of this year. Elayne Smith, a junior majoring in journalism, is one of the group’s co-leaders along with Yun Yu, a senior majoring in journalism. The meeting this Wednesday will feature Sirui Shao as the guest speaker, who is a former UA student and contributed for The Crimson White, in addition to being the president of the Association of Chinese Students and Scholars from 2012-2013.
“The reason I really wanted to invite her to our meeting is because I know many international students in the College of Communications. It’s hard for them to find a sense of home in here,” Yu said. “I think Shao is a very good role model for them and can show them if she can do that, you can do that too.”
