Applications are currently being accepted for the Capstone Inspiring Educator Award, which is designed to honor high school teachers who have influenced or inspired current University of Alabama students in some way. The award was created in 2010 by the Office for Academic Affairs to recognize teachers who have served as outstanding mentors and encouraged students in their academic and career pursuits. The winner will be recognized during spring commencement as a special guest of the University and the teacher and nominating student will also be recognized by President Judy Bonner. All graduating seniors are eligible to nominate a teacher for the Capstone Inspiring Educator Award. Applications are due April 10 and can be submitted online at inspiringteacher.ua.edu.
