Early Saturday morning, senior Alabama defensive back Geno Smith was arrested on charges of driving under the influence. Smith’s bond was set at $1,000.
It is his second arrest on that charge at Alabama. He was arrested as a sophomore in August 2013 and was suspended for the season-opener against Virginia Tech.
In 2014, he had 31 unassisted tackles and 56 total. He had 3.5 tackles for nine yards loss. He broke up one pass and forced one fumble. In spring practice, Smith has been competing for the starting safety spot.
The University of Alabama has not commented on Smith’s most recent arrest.
