As Alabama fans have learned, handling the pressure that comes with defending a national title is hard. Everyone is going to give Florida State their best shot.
Last week, NC State’s best shot (up 17 points after the first quarter) was almost good enough. The week before, Clemson took advantage of quarterback Jameis Winston’s suspension and exposed a flawed
running game.
The passing game is not without its own frightening statistics. After throwing 10 picks last year, Winston has thrown four in three games this year.
The Seminoles’ last four games (Virginia, at Miami, Boston College and Florida) are every bit as tough, if not tougher, than their first four games. If Florida State is going to win its next eight games, it might want to strap in and hold on tight.
