Women’s tennis rebounds against ETSU

The Alabama women’s tennis team improved its record to 9-1 on the season with a bounce-back win against ETSU, 5-2. “We played a very good ETSU team,” coach Jenny Mainz said. “They were gritty and competed well. It was a great opportunity for both teams.”

The Crimson Tide started the match off with the duo of juniors Alba Courtinea Pou and Luca Fabian winning their doubles match 6-1. With a back and forth battle on court No. 1, juniors Ann Selim and Kim Gintrand broke serve late to win the doubles point for Alabama with a 6-3 victory.

Baseball splits double header, wins series

Just as it did two years ago when Presbyterian came to Tuscaloosa, Alabama baseball claimed the series, winning two of the three games. Because of incoming weather, the two played a double header on Saturday. The Blue Hose won the first game 4-1, while the Crimson Tide claimed the series with a 9-4 win in the latter.

Men’s basketball stagnant in loss to Florida

Gymnastics upbeat despite loss to Florida in Power of Pink meet

Alabama gymnastics lost its annual Power of Pink meet Friday night, scoring a 196.475 to fall short of the Gators’ 197.325 total. The score was the Crimson Tide’s lowest since its second meet of the season on Jan. 11, but the team and coach Dana Duckworth remained in good spirits afterward.

Alabama women’s tennis suffered its first defeat of the season against No. 21 UCF by a score of 6-1.
