All seven members of the University of Alabama’s diving corps will vie for bids to the upcoming NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at this weekend’s NCAA Zone B Diving Championships at Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens, Ga.
“We have several divers that have a really great shot of qualifying to the NCAA Championships, including Paige McCleary, the SEC Freshman Diver of the Year, and Callan Buck, a member of the U.S. Junior National team this fall,” UA head coach Eric McIlquham said. “Senior Adam Booher, who finished fourth in both the one- and three-meter board at the SEC Championships, also has a good chance to advance.” There are 43 men and 44 women competing for the nine men’s and nine women’s berths available to the NCAA Championship out of Zone B.
The championship gets underway Thursday with the men’s one-meter event followed by the women’s three-meter competition. The men will compete off the three-meter board and the women off the one-meter on Friday, and both the men and women will compete off the platform on Saturday.
