Alabama sophomore golfer Angelica Moresco shot a 1-under-par 71 in the final round of the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, Spain on Thursday, earning a silver medal for her second-place finish in the individual competition.
After four rounds, Moresco, representing her native country, Italy, was tied for first place at 4-under-par with Spain’s Marta Sanz Barrio, who won the gold medal in a playoff. Italy also finished second to Spain in the team competition.
“This week has been unbelievable,” Moresco, who has represented Italy in international competition several times before, said. “I played well each day, so I am really happy with my game and how everything is going. Being out there with my team is always special, and I am so glad I had the opportunity to represent my country at the Mediterranean Games. It was a great experience that taught me a lot. I think this is a great start to the summer season.”
