Alabama football bolstered its future backfield Wednesday with a commitment from 4-star running back Keilan Robinson, the 18th-ranked back in the Class of 2019 according to 247Sports’ rankings.
Robinson, a Washington, D.C. native, had 23 offers from FBS schools and took unofficial visits to Ole Miss and Alabama in April. He attended an Alabama camp on June 1, at which point he was already leaning toward picking the Crimson Tide, according to BamaOnLine.
Robinson, standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 184 pounds, becomes Alabama’s first running back commitment for 2019. Since the Crimson Tide only brought in one running back in the Class of 2018, Alabama is continuing to seek depth to presumably back up current running backs Najee Harris and Brian Robinson in 2019 and beyond.
After experiencing recent success on the recruiting trail, Alabama now has 17 rising-seniors committed to join coach Nick Saban’s squad.
