After a weekend off from practice due to Easter, Alabama football players were greeted by one of the hottest days of the year when they returned to practice on Tuesday. Here are our observations from the sixth of 15 spring practices: 

• Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa did not join the other quarterbacks while they threw fade routes and slant routes to wide receivers during the media viewing period. He still had his left hand taped. Tagovailoa broke his left index finger on the first day of practice two weeks ago. 
• Quarterback Mac Jones handled goal-line drills, throwing to tight ends and running backs. Offensive coordinator Mike Locksley barked out play calls. The coverage mostly consisted of linebackers, including Dylan Moses, Mack Wilson, and Christian Miller. 
• Miller had been leading most of the outside linebacker drills during the viewing period so far, but Terrell Lewis led one today. Miller was right after him, followed by Jamey Mosley and Christopher Allen. As the players high-stepped through a semi-circle of pads on the ground, coaches whacked them with other pads and yelled, “Don’t let me get in your chest!” 
• The defensive linemen went through one round of knocking over tackling dummies before moving on to working with blocking sleds. Raekwon Davis, Isaiah Buggs, and Quinnen Williams led off those drills.
