The University’s School of Social Work will be hosting an event for students to interact personally with local police officers.
Given recent controversy regarding police-community relations, a group of students from the School of Social Work decided to host an event through the University to foster discussion and mutual understanding between the student body and officers at UAPD.
Who: The University of Alabama’s School of Social Work
What: An open discussion and meet and greet with UAPD officers
When: Thursday, Oct. 16 at 4:30 p.m.
Where: Bryant-Jordan Hall, located on Bryce Lawn opposite Capitol Hall.
“The purpose of the event is to continue to promote community-police understanding and to address issues, both national and local, of importance to police and to the communities that they serve,” said Alexis Ferruccio, a graduate student studying social work.
