Alabama baseball rides Bramblett's pitching performance to win over Notre Dame

Alabama played its first game of the USA Baseball-Irish Classic today against Notre Dame. The Crimson Tide shutout Notre Dame 4-0 after starter Geoffrey Bramblett finished with an eight-inning pitching performance.

Bramblett finished the day with six strikeouts over the eight innings and issued no walks. Then set-up man, Matt Foster, closed the game out to complete the shutout. Today was the first shutout thrown by Alabama this season.

Alabama had the offense going early scoring three runs in the first inning off of a bases-clearing double from Cody Henry. Chance Vincent’s RBI single added another run in the fourth.

Tomorrow Alabama will play a double header. The first game will be against Niagara at 11:30 a.m. CT. Following that game at 3:30 p.m. CT Alabama will play N.C. State.
