National championship parade will affect on-campus traffic

Spring semester started last week, and there is already a lot going on on The University of Alabama campus:

·       The University asked faculty, staff and students with ideas to help move the University forward to create the school’s strategic plan.

o   Those interested should complete the UA Strategic Plan Survey at https://universityofalabama.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_dhAfc1iJn6IUtH7

o   They can also submit ideas to the Strategic Planning Council through their online form (https://ua.edu/strategicplan/input) or email ([email protected]).

o   For more information go to https://ua.edu/strategicplan.

·       A parade will take place on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 10 a.m. to honor the Alabama football team for their national championship. The parade will start on University Boulevard at Denny Chimes and will conclude at the Walk of Champions. There will then be a ceremony at the North End Zone entrance to Bryant-Denny Stadium.

o   Traffic will be affected!

o   Between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. the portion of University Boulevard between Hackberry Lane and Campus Drive West will be closed.

o   Drivers who normally take University Boulevard will be able to avoid the closure by using the north side of campus where McCorvey Drive connects Hackberry Lane and Campus Drive West.

o   Fans driving to the parade will be able to park in all West Commuter parking lots near ten Hoor Hall.
