Alabama finished day two of the Georgia Tech Invitational with another new school record

Sophomore Mia Nonnenberg set yet another school record in day two of the Georgia Tech Invitational breaking the 400 individual medley record with a time of 4:07.53. This is Nonnenberg’s second school record in two days at the invitational.

Alabama notched six individual wins on the day with three of those coming in the relay races.

On the men’s side, Alabama placed first, second and third in the 200 freestyle. Christian Arseneau finished first with a time of 1:36.10 followed by junior Alex Gray (1:36.36) and senior Crews Wellford (1:37.44) took second and third respectively.

Alabama also swept the top three in the 100 meters backstroke as junior Connor Oslin won with a time of 46.00. Sophomores Luke Kaliszack (46.14) and Christopher Reid (47.64) touched the wall at second and third behind Oslin.

Senior Brett Walsh notched a victory in the 100 meter butterfly, touching the wall with a time of 46.44. Sophomore Hannah Musser won the 100 butterfly on the women’s side at a time of 53.57. Junior Anton McKee captured a victory in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 52.43. On the women’s side, junior Bridget Blood placed first in the same race, touching the wall at 1:00.43.

Senior Emma Saunders placed second in the 200 freestyle, touching the wall at a time 1:47.17. Junior Pavel Romanov finished fourth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 54.06.

In the relay races, Oslin, Romanov, Walsh and Junior Kristian Gkolomeev worked together to win the 200 medley relay at a time of 1:24.49. Reid, Gray, Wellford and Arseneau combined to capture a victory in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 6:27.19.

For the women, Nonnenberg, Musser, sophomore Temarie Tomley and Saunders captured a victory in the 800 freestyle relay, touching the wall with a time of 7:15.20. Saunders, Blood, Musser and Tomley won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:39.60.

Alabama will participate in day three of the Georgia Tech Invitational at 9 a.m. CT on Saturday.
