Alabama men’s basketball head coach Anthony Grant added to what very well could be the best recruiting class of his head coaching career. On May 18, S.R. Butler High School in Huntsville guard Trevor Lacey signed his letter of intent to play for the Crimson Tide next season.
Lacey led the Rebels to three state championships in the last four years, and has won Alabama’s Mr. Basketball award two times in a row. The only other person to accomplish that feat is former Alabama guard Ronald Steele.
Lacey is known for his prolific scoring abilities and has a very good chance to take the starting spot vacated by graduated senior Charvez Davis. His biggest competition will be fellow incoming freshman Levi Randolph, who is in the ESPN Top 100 of the Class of 2011 along with Lacey.
