The University of Alabama Crimson Tide softball team is looking to earn the series sweep against the Arkansas Razorbacks at home today and continue its undefeated streak at home.
The No. 1 Tide (32-2, 8-1) beat the Razorbacks in the first game of the series 10-1 behind the batting of junior Jennifer Fenton, whose two homeruns, one of which was a grand slam, drove in six runs for the Tide. The Tide clinched the series win Saturday as it again dominated Arkansas, this time winning 12-3. Senior Kelsi Dunne earned the win, improving 15-1 on the season. She allowed three runs off of six hits while pitching nine strikeouts on the day. The Tide finished both games in only five innings.
For Alabama, it all comes down to continuing what works. In its first two games against the Razorbacks, The Tide has earned 10 runs in each game, while only giving up 9 runs throughout the entire series. The Tide just needs to follow behind the arm of Kelsi Dunne, who is looking to earn her hundredth career win today, becoming only the second player for Alabama to do so. If she can do that, and the Tide can continue its dominance at the plate, it should have no trouble out-performing an overmatched Razorbacks team.
