It has been a week of up and downs for the Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team. It lost its fourth straight game to fall to 4-4 on the season last Wednesday. But just as quickly as it fell, the Tide rebounded to win its next three in a weekend series against Northwestern State, outscoring the Daemons 20-7. Now, the Tide will face an in-state rival that brings its own three-game winning streak to Tuscaloosa, as it faces the Troy Trojans.
The Trojans have been fairly dominant in play so far this season, going 9-2 so far. However, the Trojans have a common loss with the Tide, as both teams have lost once to the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles.
However, the Tide has dominated Troy in recent years. Overall, Alabama’s record against the Trojans is 16-7, with six wins in the last 10 games. In the last meeting between the two teams, Alabama scored a season high 22 runs in Tuscaloosa (with two grand slams) en route to a dominating win, 22-4.
The Trojans may have a bad taste in their mouth from their last loss, but the Tide’s last game at home this season was also a loss. Expect both teams to show up with a bad attitude.
