Alabama’s freshman guard, De’Sha Benjamin, suffered a season-ending injury during Sunday’s overtime loss to Georgia, 76-67. Benjamin broke her foot during the fourth quarter and never returned to the game.

She was the Crimson Tide’s leading bench player and top freshman player with 6.2 points per game, and 3.4 rebounds per game through 25 games. Benjamin led the team in three-point percentage (36.5 percent) and was second on the team in free throw percentage (76.1 percent).

Benjamin scored double figures eight times. She was named SEC Co-Freshman of the week in December, the first freshman to do so for the Crimson Tide since the 2016-17 season.
