As of 3:30 p.m. this afternoon, the University has suspended all classes. By Friday morning, classes are scheduled to resume. The National Weather Service has issued a winter-weather advisory for central Alabama, which includes sleet and freezing rain that may cause travel difficulties.
The University stated that if temperatures fall below freezing overnight and icy conditions impact safe travel, students, faculty and staff will be notified through a text message, e-mail and the UA web page for a delayed start time on Friday.
