Rylie Curry, Staff Reporter

WHAT: Fall 2018 Co-op Interview Day

WHO: Co-Op Interview Day will be hosted by the Office of Cooperative Education under the Division of Student Life

WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 16

WHERE: Bryant Conference Center

WHY: Engineering students interested in cooperative education programs will have the opportunity to interview with prospective companies at the annual Fall 2018 Co-Op Interview Day.

The cooperative education program, or co-op, is a formalized experiential learning program that allows engineering students to work a paid engineering job by alternating between school and a full-time job for three semesters while maintaining their full-time-student status.

Neil Adams, assistant director of the cooperative education program, said interview day is the biggest recruitment event of the year with over 200 students participating in interviews with more than 70 companies in one day.

“We very much recommend getting experience,” Adams said. “To me, the biggest benefit of co-ops is recognizing that any professional experience is good experience.”

Students interested in co-ops or participating in interview day should visit http://coop.eng.ua.edu/ or visit the office of cooperative education at 2004 H.M. Comer.
