Alabama in the NFL: Week five

Week five of the 2018 NFL season is complete and many former Alabama standouts continue to showcase their skills throughout the league. Da’shawn Hand has proven to be a steal of a pick for the Detroit Lions. Hand totaled four tackles including a sack causing quarterback Aaron Rogers to fumble, which he recovered.

There were more than 30 former Alabama players who played in football games during the fifth week of the season.

The Lions beat the Green Bay Packers 31-24. Tony Brown made his season debut with the Packers recording a single pass break up.

Miami Dolphins running back Kenyan Drake ran for six carries and 46 yards averaging 7.7 yards per rush. The Dolphins lost to the Cincinnati Bengals 27-17.

Baltimore Ravens middle linebacker C.J. Mosley made the team-high nine tackles, adding one behind the line of scrimmage against the Cleveland Browns. The Ravens lost in overtime 12-9.

Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick recorded two tackles, one tackle for loss and broke up two passes. The Bengals won 27-17 over the Miami Dolphins.

Jacksonville Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon led the team in rushing with ten carries for 53 yards, eight receptions for 69 yards and a single touchdown. The Jaguars lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 30-14.

New York Giants strong safety Landon Collins made the team-high eight tackles, a quarterback hit, and recorded one pass break up. The Giants lost 33-31 to the Carolina Panthers.

Tennessee Titans teammates inside linebacker Rashaan Evans and running back Derrick Henry both had good performances against the Buffalo Bills. Henry rushed for 11 carries with 56 yards, and Evans tallied six tackles.

Houston Texans safety Kareem Jackson made five tackles, including one behind the line of scrimmage. Jackson also recorded an interception making him the Texans franchise leader with 15. The Texans beat the Dallas Cowboys 19-16 in overtime.

Other notable performances included Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley catching four passes for 38 yards against the Steelers. Ridley has consistently shown his ability to make plays and stay reliable for the Falcons offense. The Falcons lost 41-17.

New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram had 16 carries for 53 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints win over the Washington Redskins 43-19.
