The College of Arts and Sciences’ School of Music will begin the 2011 lineup of celebrity musicians tonight with world-renowned trombonist Joseph Alessi.
Alessi will perform in the Moody Music Building Concert Hall. The concert is at 7:30 p.m. and student tickets are $7.
Alessi is an active soloist, recitalist and chamber music performer. The California native was appointed principal trombone of the New York Philharmonic in 1985. He is currently on the faculty of the Julliard School and has an extensive discography.
