What: Honors Study Abroad Fair.
This study abroad fair will highlight upcoming experiences available to Honors College students.
Who: Sponsored by the Honors College, the Honors Study Abroad Fair is targeted toward honors students.
“We’ll be hosting the faculty and students who have participated in Honors programs, but we will also highlight some non-honors programs available to students,” said Alicia Browne, director of Honors College relations. “The fair is really good for both students planning on studying abroad next year, and students who are not quite ready to go.”
When: Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Where: Outside of Nott Hall.
Why: Browne said the importance of the fair lies in raising awareness.
“The goal is just to make sure that Honors students are aware of some of the unique opportunities available to them through study abroad,” Browne said.
The fair will feature programs exclusive to Honors students, including UA in Oxford, a now-40-year-old program, an honors and business school program located in Germany, and a program in South Africa.
“It’s a wonderful variety,” Browne said. “It really hits a lot of interests.”
A key aspect of the fair will be the students and faculty who participated in Honors study abroad programs in the past.
“We’ll have both faculty who lead theses programs and students who went in the past,” Browne said. “Interested students can find out more about costs and what it was like to participate. I think probably most important will be to see what it’s like day-to-day. We’re really pleased to have students listen to students.”
