Tonight, you can watch films at the Bama Theatre that’ll be shown all over the world.
The Manhattan Short Film Festival will conclude the 2017 Bama Art House Film Series at the Bama Theatre this tonight. The screening will begin at 7:30 p.m. with $7 student tickets and $8 general admission tickets.
This one-night-only film festival features 10 films that are finalists in the annual competition. Not only will the films be shown at the Bama Theatre in Tuscaloosa, but also in theaters across six continents. All audience members will be able to cast their vote for best film on a ballot.
Once the Manhattan Short Film Festival has collected all the ballots, the winner will be announced in October.
The 10 finalist films have directors that come from a total of nine countries. Spain is the only country that has two finalist films, but other contenders include Syria, Latvia, Georgia, the Netherlands, Italy, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and the U.S.
These films were chosen from a record 1615 submissions from 75 countries to the Manhattan Short Film Festival. They represent a range of genres including comedy, drama, horror, sci-fi, animation, and martial arts short films.
The Bama Art House works to bring current and contemporary independent films to Tuscaloosa one night a week at the Bama Theatre.
